General Information

A slipped vertebrae is a vertebrae that have shifted out of place relative to the one below or above it. It is another term for a spondylolisthesis which means the same thing. A vertebrae can shift forward, backward, or sideways. This creates a deformity and can significantly affect others structures in the spine as well. It is a deformity in the front to back plane of the body.
