Q. How common is surgery for facet arthritis?

A. Surgery for isolated facet disease is common, but does not always produce a consistent and predictable result. Facet and spinal segment fusion surgery can treat facet arthritis and generally produced godo results, especially when coupled with a fusion of the disc space using fusion cages and spinal instrumentation.
