A. When the muscles and associated structures in our back and neck are injured, the symptoms can vary from a mild discomfort to very severe and crippling pain depending on the nature and degree of the injury. If we injure a leg or arm, we can rest that extremity in a cast, brace, or crutches until it is better, but we often continue to use our back while it is trying to heal. This slows the natural healing process significantly, so the course and nature of treatment has to keep this in perspective and the patient needs to be an active participant in their care.
Biscup Spine is a state-of-the-art facility specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery and failed back surgery. We provide the highest level of care in the treatment of chronic back pain through accurate diagnosis, proper treatment and ongoing follow-up care. While surgery can be an effective option in treating chronic back conditions, not all individuals require spine surgery to alleviate their pain. In many instances pain can be effectively treated with non-surgical methods.
