Spinal Instability

Spinal Instability refers to a vertebrae and spinal motion segment that is moving too much: either front to back, side to side, or up and down. It can occur with spondylolisthesis and the terms are often used interchangeably. However, spinal instability can occur without the presence of spondylolisthesis (and vice-versa).
