My episodes of back pain have had several etiologies and have involved multiple levels from L3-L-4 through L5 – S1. Each surgery was preceded by denial, with hopes that my symptoms would go away, and with frustration at the failure of conservative treatment. Each time the microsurgical procedures offered immediate relief from the severe back and leg pain I was experiencing. I was back to driving and back to my work in the medical field within two weeks.
I now have pain free nights and days. In 2007 I was able to travel extensively through Finland, Russia, and several of the Baltic States just four months after surgery. This year I am planning to participate in out church mission project in Belize where I will help to build a school. In October I will traveling to Morocco and intend to tide a camel. Not bad for a 70 year old.
I have recommended Dr. Biscup and Dr. Whitfield often and cannot express my appreciation loudly enough for their knowledge and surgical expertise. A special thanks to John Booher who gives our P.A. (Physician’s Assistant) profession the ideal example of the level at which a P.A. is capable of performing.
Sincerely,
Kay James
