Erin Gilbert, APRN, CNM, Director of Integrative Medicine
Erin Gilbert, APRN, CNM, recognizes the need for Dr. Biscup’s patients to achieve and maintain optimal health, incorporating Biscup Integrative Medicine, an integrative medicine and IV Therapy program into Biscup Spine.
In 2007, Erin Gilbert, APRN, CNM, was instrumental in launching Dr. Biscup’s concierge orthopedic spine surgery practice and in the research of, and expansion into, regenerative stem cell and platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy. Working collaboratively with Dr. Biscup as a Stem Cell Technician for a variety of orthopedic applications, Erin prepared harvested bone marrow and platelet rich plasma for re-injection to accelerate repair and healing.
Born and raised in Delaware, Erin received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware. She relocated to Florida in 1999 and began her clinical nursing career as a Registered Nurse at Holy Cross Hospital with a busy orthopedic surgical practice. Her responsibilities included surgical wound management, cast and brace care, monitoring patient vital signs and neurological functions, oral and IV medication management including pain control, and patient education.
With a continued interest in women’s health and maternity, Erin transferred to Broward General Medical Center as Supervisor of Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother Baby, and Labor and Delivery. Subsequently, pursuing a longtime dream of becoming a midwife, Erin graduated with a Post Master’s Degree in Women’s Health with honors from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing.
Erin Gilbert, APRN, CNM, naturally strives to continually grow and advance her career. While caring for many patients with a variety of different medical conditions, she came to value the role that integrative medicine plays in further enhancing her patient’s quality of life. While pursuing advanced education, Erin attended numerous conferences, symposiums and one-on-one training by renowned integrative medicine experts and was accepted into the Institute for Functional Medicine Program.
Erin is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN), and the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). She is married, has 5 children and balances her work and home life with her love for tennis and hot yoga.
